What Is a Special Power of Attorney in the UAE?
A Special Power of Attorney (SPA), also called a Limited Power of Attorney, restricts the agent's authority to clearly defined acts — for example "to sell apartment 1204 in Tower X", or "to represent me in case number Y at the Dubai Courts". Special POAs are preferred when you want maximum control, because the agent cannot act beyond the stated scope.
When to Use a Special POA
Choose a Special Power of Attorney for one-off transactions: selling a specific property, attending a specific court hearing, opening or closing a specific bank account, or signing a single contract. For wide, ongoing authority, a General Power of Attorney is more practical.
How We Help
We draft your Special POA in bilingual English-Arabic with the precise scope you need, provide certified Arabic translation, and arrange notarisation in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman or any emirate. Overseas clients are guided through embassy and MOFA attestation.
